Adventures With “Flat Pete” Photo Gallery

in addition to books, you will also find that the backpack includes a “Flat Pete!” Flat Pete was derived from the beloved “Flat Stanley.”

The goal of Flat Pete is to keep children engaged and excited about reading and learning about different areas in our city! Flat Pete makes the information that children are learning from the books more meaningful by being able to take Pete along on their real life adventures.

Children will be encouraged to bring and take pictures of Flat Pete as they visit different landmarks of Jacksonville and attend family engagement JaxKids Book Club events. The pictures where a child is pictured with Flat Pete can be shared on our social media websites and children can interact with each other from different parts of our city. Flat Pete will not only connect children from all over Jacksonville, but it will also give parents exciting ways to spend quality family time together that embeds learning for everyone!
